Carsten R. Bjarkam, M.D., Ph.D
Dr. Carsten R. Bjarkam is currently Vice President and Chief Scientific Advisor for HistOtech ApS and holds an M.M.S in Neurobiology and an M.D. from the University of Aarhus in Denmark. Presently a Research Fellow at the same university, Dr. Bjarkam is the principal investigator conducting research on the histopathologic and functional effects of deep brain stimulation in the STN of the MPTP treated minipig and is also studying the minipig neuroanatomy in relation to a newly developed pig stereotaxic frame. In addition to published articles and abstracts, Dr. Bjarkam holds patents on a method and an apparatus for cutting and sectioning tissue blocks.
