Dr. Miles G. Cunningham, M.D., Ph.D. is currently a neuropsychiatrist
at Harvard University's McLean Hospital. He has been involved in scientific
work relating to stem cell biology and neural transplantation for
many years and was one of the first to transplant stem cells into
the central nervous system. At the National Institutes of Neurological

trained with Dr. Ronald D. G. McKay, one of the "fathers"
of neural stem cell biology, in developing neural stem cell lines.
In addition, he has worked with Dr. Anders Bjorklund, at the University
of Lund, Sweden, on the transplantation of cell lines into animal
models of neurologic diseases.
Dr. Cunningham earned his undergraduate degree in psychology at
the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville; his Ph.D. in the field
of Brain Sciences and Cognitive Sciences from Massachusetts Institute
of Technology, and his M.D. in Psychiatry from the Harvard University
Medical School. He has numerous medical inventions to his credit
and has published more than 25 scientific papers.
