Charles W. Scouten, PhD.
Dr. Scouten, an experienced neuroscience researcher with several patents and numerous published research papers, has been the recipient of grants for research from the National Institute of Health. He has expertise in physiology, neuroscience, genetics, and pharmacology and understands the instruments needed for those disciplines.
Dr. Scouten most recently served as Vice President for the Stoelting Company in Chicago, Illinois, where he was able to grow the Company's Physiology division annual sales of laboratory equipment from $300,000 to over $3 million.
In addition to his product positions at Stoelting, Dr. Scouten has, since 1990, served as President and Principal Investigator of Preferred Instruments, Inc. In this capacity he directed the firm's research and commercial efforts in the development of new products designed for the neuroscience research marketplace.
He holds both B.S. and M.S. degrees in psychology, a Ph.D. in neuroscience, and has completed extensive post doctoral work in neuroscience. His many scholarly articles have appeared in a wide variety of neuroscience-related publications including Physiology & Behavior, Brain Research Bulletin, Advances in Vertebrate Neuroethology, Neuroendocrinology, Endocrinology, and The McGraw-Hill Encyclopedia of Science and Technology.
